About Us

Maringá is located in the north of the state of Paraná, a region also known as “Norte Pioneiro”. With a population of about 410,000 inhabitants, the city is the third most populous in the state and the 61st in Brazil, according to IBGE data from 2022.

Sectors such as agribusiness, metal-mechanic industry and polymer processing make the region of Maringá one of the most important cities in the state.

Approved in April 2012, with a grade of 3 from CAPES, the graduation program in mechanical engineering (PEM) started its activities in the second semester of this year, offering vacancies in 2 areas of concentration: "Materials" and "Thermal Sciences" and currently has a faculty formed by 16 PhDs with various backgrounds (Engineering, Physics, Chemistry and Statistics).

The PEM main objective is the training of human resources at the master's level in Mechanical Engineering in its 2 areas of concentration who can work in Brazilian industries, as well as professionals who come to carry out their activities as professors and researchers in universities and research institutes.
